if i were to reappear
bruised and battered by the knife of my life
would you look beyond the blood?
if i were to show you my scars
despite how invisible they’ve tried to become
would you wonder?
if i were to forget
what to do to fit the mold of society
would you disregard the fingerprints?
if i were to come out
of this cocoon of fantasy
would you see me for who I really am?
or would you be caught in the reruns of who you
thought I was?
