as a mother, you are my caring dove
pure and beautiful; filled with love.
as my friend, you are my by-side sparrow
singing me on through my life next to yours.
as my guardian, you are my watchful hawk
keeping dangers at bay and prolonging the future.
as your daughter, i am your young chickadee
seemingly never quite ready to leave the nest.
you've done your best to buff my wings
before my flight.
I may be soaring soon
but your love will keep me forever grounded.
